All regular members are expected to pay subs to the Loughborough Orchestra. The subs cover the cost of the
Burleigh Hall hire for our weekly rehearsals. Subs can be paid annually (£55),
over 3 terms (£22 per term) or by direct debit
(£7.50 per month for 8 months) and there is a 50% reduction offered to full
time students. The treasurer David Bristow has the details.
If you are new to the orchestra, then we won't charge you for your first few evenings :-)
Since the 2006 AGM we have adopted a constitution and now have charitable status. This means we are able to claim tax back on fees paid by UK tax payers which has helped us to keep our subs fixed this year.
Committee Governance
The orchestra is a democratically run club. Each year a committee is elected at the annual general meeting (AGM) , which is open to all members. The committee is made up of officers with responsibilities for administration, publicity, finance, etc, and representatives from each of the main sections of the orchestra. The Leader and Conductor are also members of the committee.
Following the elections at the AGM in October 2009, the current list of committee members is as below: -
