The orchestra is a democratically run club. Each year a committee is elected at the annual general meeting (AGM) , which is open to all members. The committee is made up of officers with responsibilities for administration, publicity, finance, etc, and representatives from each of the main sections of the orchestra. The Leader and Conductor are also members of the committee.

Elizabeth Thomas - Conductor
Liz Thomas has been the Loughborough Orchestra conductor for the past 4 years. She graduated from the Royal College of Music in London, where she also gained diplomas in both oboe and piano. After ten years free-lancing as a player and teacher in the South-East, she moved to Leicestershire. As well as teaching in the University, she also teaches in the Loughborough Endowed Schools, plays principal oboe in the Charnwood Orchestra and is a member of the Upper Register Wind Quintet. She also plays for operas and shows, and as a relaxation plays the saxophone and double bass.

Music suggestions
The music suggestions page has been revamped. If you have any classical music that you would like the loughborough orchestra to play then you can add your suggestion here! All you need to do is enter your name, email, and the composer with the piece of music. A press of the submit button and you request will be noted. I will try to keep this page updated with all the requests and these will be forwarded at the loughborough orchestra committee meetings. You don't have to restrict it to one piece of music either, you can write as many as you like. And you never know, your favourite piece of music may be played in a future loughborough orchestra concert :-)
So don't you sit there dreaming, get suggesting some music ...
